
Neenah – Martha Ellen Schulz, 92, formerly of Racine, passed away in Neenah on Monday, December 1, 2008. She was born in Racine on November 9, 1916, daughter of the late Christ and Christina (nee: Madsen) Petersen. She was a graduate of Racine Park High School. On September 9, 1939 she was married to Richard A. Schulz. He preceded her in death in 1998. Martha lived much of her life in Racine, but had also lived in Sheboygan, Milwaukee, and Brookfield. Martha retired in 1978 from Milwaukee Area Technical College, where she worked as a secretary. She was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Racine, and Unity West Church in Milwaukee. She is survived by her son, Richard (Sallie) Schulz of Neenah; daughter-in-law, Jill Schulz of Dunedin, Florida; six grandsons, Christopher, Gregory (Renee), Jeffrey, Timothy, Bradley (Jennifer), and Jason (Sandy) Schulz; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Hanna Schulz. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Schulz of Dunedin, Florida; sisters, Mary Hansen, Myrtle Conner, Ann Jensen, and her brother, James “Bud” Petersen, all of Racine; and her dear friend, Ed Stirle. Martha’s family would also like to thank her “extended family” at the Valley VNA Assisted Living in Neenah for their wonderful care since 2003 as well as ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their gracious support in Martha’s final weeks. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 12 noon on Friday, December 5, 2008 with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. Cemetery services will be private. Visitation will begin in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.

I have many memories of Aunt Martha visiting Grandpa Bud. She was always so energetic and full of spunk, and Grandpa, as well as myself, really enjoyed her visits to Racine and San Diego. My thoughts are with you.
