Service Details
A Memorial Service celebrating Martha’s life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1600 Summerset Dr., Racine, WI. Relatives and friends are invited to meet from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

Martha R. Selmon, age 74, of Racine, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at Aurora Medical Center, 13250 Washington Ave., Mt. Pleasant, WI 53177
She was born in Riply, MS on December 28, 1948, a daughter of the late Henry Earl and Deborah (nee: Simmons) Cobb.
She attended Washington Park High School and was a proud graduate of Gateway Technical College where she received her certification in the Dental Assistance Program.
Martha was employed as a Dental Assistant with the Lake Dental Group at 400 Lake Avenue in Racine, WI for thirty years.
A proud Jehovah’s Witness of forty-nine years, Martha was baptized in 1973 and currently a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Lockwood Park Congregation.
In her free time, Martha enjoyed music, reading, cooking, her flowers, and gardening.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Timothy Selmon, Deborah (Cecil) Jones, Derris (Abel) Morales, and a special son, Ron (Ruby) Powell; her grandchildren, Whitney Selmon and Karlyl Johnson of St. Paul, MN and Kalynn Johnson of Racine, WI; eleven great grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Selmon of Racine, Linda Cobb of Toledo, OH, Ernest (Ayanna) Cobb of Atlanta, GA, Carol D. Cobb, Michael J. Cobb, and Laura Cobb, all of Racine; her aunties and uncles, Mary Weatherspoon, Lorene Story, Orine Story, Vallie (Walter) Rogers, William (Ruth) Simmons, and John (Mae) Simmons; her nephews and nieces, Jermarel, Justin, Ernest Jr., Anthony (Tasha) Cobb, Chadwick Cobb, Camilla Selmon, Romonica Selmon, Nakeita Selmon, Nicole Cobb; special great nieces and nephews, Kejuana, Jaliin, Sahron, Angelo, Alexandria, Davion, Emari, Nehemiah, Nialiyiah, Jazlynn, Cozion, Damarion, Chadwick Jr., Ariah, Camdyn, and Aaden; her special sister in law, Carolyn Prather; her special cousins, Barbara McCord, Joanna Love, Florine Spight, Gilda Boyd, and Dovie Boyd, and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her mother, Deborah (Bud) Cobb; her father Henry (Mazell) Selmon; her grandparents ,George (Johnnie B.) Simmons, John Selmon, and Minerva Spight; her brothers, William “Curt” Selmon and Gary Cobb; an infant sister, Deborah Cobb; her niece, Latasha Collins; her nephew, Anthony Selmon; great nephew Isaiah Cobb; great niece, KeYunna Collier; auntie, Elizabeth Gregory; special uncle, Robert Simmons, and her cousins, Elsa Weatherspoon, Jacqueline Slack, and Judy Phillips.
