Racine, WI –
Mary D. (nee: Gates) Lambert, age 81, entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her residence in Racine, Wisconsin with her children and grandchildren at her bedside. She was born on December 30, 1939 in Okolona, Mississippi to the late Boza Sr. and Elve Gates. She received her formal education in the Okolona School District and was a graduate of Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin.
Mary D. was united in holy matrimony to A.J. Lambert on February 11, 1961 in Racine, WI. Their union was blessed with four beautiful daughters. Mary D. accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 1967 where she was actively involved in many areas. She regularly volunteered, she unselfishly gave her time and heart wherever it was needed. She was employed as an LPN at Southern Wisconsin Center for many years. Thereafter she devoted herself to care for her disabled granddaughter, Candice for more than 25 years.
Mary D. was recognized with numerous awards, too many to name. She was honored for her outstanding achievements in personal sales from Amway. She also received a Black Belt in Judo Marshal Arts. Mary D. was a phenomenal woman with class, dignity, and respect for herself and for others. She would read you from head to toe without blinking her eye. She enjoyed holding long conversations in person and over the phone, cooking and watching CNN. She was an active member of Bally Total Fitness for many years. Above all, she LOVED spending quality time with her grandchildren.
Mary D. leaves to cherish her four beautiful daughters, Avis, Terry, Rachal and Kim; eleven precious grandchildren, Justin, Candice, Richard, Logan Jr., Tara, Nicholas, Tony II, RaShaun, Justice, Frankie and Isis; twenty-five Great-grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Mary D. was greeted in heaven by her parents Boza Sr. and Elve Gates; four brothers, Furgenson aka” Babe”, Walter, Ortha (Lee) and Boza Jr.; two handsome sons-in-law Ricky Jones and Logan C. Tyler Sr.
To have known Mary D. was to have loved her, she will be greatly missed!
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021, 12:00pm in the chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home. Visitation will be in the chapel from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Interment will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Racine, WI.
