Miller's FlowersMelvin J. Williams, 63, was called Home by his Loving Savior, on Sunday, May13, 2018. He was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on July 10, 1954, the son of the late James Williams and Margaret A. Hunt. Melvin was an active member of his family and the Racine Community.
Melvin was a dedicated worker, being employed by Warren Packaging as a machine operator for over ten years; and held several other jobs until he retired in 2017. Melvin was an expert barbeque cook, and constantly entertained family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving companion of over 20 years, Sherrie Ann McFarland; step children, DoRindria Mitchell, Dorkeyla (Juan) Earl, and Jermaine Wilson, all of Racine; siblings, Carolyn Williams, Janice Williams, Marino (Linda) Williams, Lamont (Amy) Williams, all of Los Angeles, CA, Francis Williams and Eddie ( Gwendolyn Grant) Williams, all of Racine; sister, Pastor Virginia Lackey; sister-in-law, Mary Strong, both of Racine, special family members Ruth Williams, and Sarah Williams, both of Minneapolis, MN, and Eloise Hunter, of Racine, a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Andrew and Carrie Strong; brother, David Williams, uncles, Andrew Strong Jr., Jesse James, and James Holmes; and by his stepson, Tyricoe Mitchell.
