A service of remembrance, with military honors, will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the chapel of Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring Street in Union Grove).

In memory of the compassionate care & support given to Mike & Marie in their time of need, memorials to the Wisconsin Veterans Home – Boland Hall or to the Senior Companion Program of Racine have been suggested.
Racine – Michael Joel Jaber, age 74, passed away peacefully at Ascension-All Saints Hospital and was born into Eternal Life on Thursday, September 6, 2018.
Mike was born in Danbury, Connecticut on November 20, 1943. He was raised in Jacksonville, FL, where he enjoyed playing clarinet in the high school marching band. He enlisted in the US Army at the young age of 17 to serve in Germany from 1961 – 64. While in Germany, Mike graduated from the Frankfort, Germany American High School. Proudly patriotic, he went on to continue serving his country with the US Coast Guard from 1965-67 in the Vietnam War. A brave Wounded Warrior, Mike was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
On January 10, 1979 he was united in marriage with Marie M. (nee: Adams). Mike was employed with the United States Postal Service (State Street Station & 4 Mile Station) for over 20 years, retiring in 2004. With a profound Christian faith in God and could often be found studying the Bible, Mike & Marie had worshiped at Racine Assembly of God for many years.
Surviving are his loving wife, Marie; son, Mark Wayne Jaber; step-daughter, Terri (Jeff) Strom; step-son, Robert (Kim Kirk) Olk; granddaughter, Samantha Jaber; grandsons, Andrew and Alex Caudill; great-granddaughters, Brayleigh and Evangeline Caudill; sister, Georgia (Bud) White; brother-in-law, Richard (Kathy) Adams; devoted neighbors, Tanya & Brian Kirchenberg; and dear friends, Gary & Sue Craanen, Marlene Nejedly and Barb Zielenski. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, George Jaber and Margaret (nee: Arnold) Thornhill; and by Marie’s parents, Jacob and Marie (nee: Kornwolf) Adams.
