Michelle Lynn Wood (Nee: Mertins), 64, passed on December 30, 2024, at Thedacare Regional Medical Center/Hospice in Neenah, WI. She was born in Racine, WI on July 19, 1960, to Glenn & Laurissa (Wurster) Mertins.
Michelle was best known for her love of singing & playing the organ for church. It was one of her favorite past times since she was young & her way to give back. Many also knew her for her love of cooking. She even taught her partner/caretaker, Kerry, how to make her most favorite meals. Most noted, she loved her family- especially her grandchildren. She loved to be outdoors where she could be found outside with her garden & flowers, or chilling with one of the many roaming cats in her area.
She is survived by her 3 daughters: Jamie Mertins, Devon Bernal (Domingo III), Annette Burk (Keeghan) & her partner/caretaker, Kerry Miller & his son, Gage Miller. Her grandchildren: Riley Puma, Lucas Grycowski, Savannah Bernal, Nevaeh Bernal, Domingo Bernal IV & Kye Miller, as well as many family & friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Mertins & her father, Glenn Mertins.

The family would like to thank Kerry Miller for his love & dedication to caring for Michelle throughout her entire time after her health changed. Without his dedication to her, she would not have gotten the level of love, care or companionship he showed all the way to the end. We are forever grateful for you being there for her. Thank you for loving her unconditionally, as well as all of us.
Also, a big thank you to the wonderful staff at Thedacare Neenah. The 6th floor staff & hospice group helped us all through this rough time with care & grace. They took the time to make sure we all were taken care of & made Michelle comfortable through her passing.
