Racine – Nick Vaillancourt, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 27, 2015.
Nick was born in Racine on August 13, 1979 to Maureen (nee: McGovern) Vaillancourt and Gary Vaillancourt. He was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1997” and went on to attend MATC. A longtime Boy Scout with Troop 400, sponsored by VFW Post 1391, Nick proudly attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was also a member of the Order of the Arrow.
Nick was an extremely talented photographer who had a special eye for capturing the city skylines and buildings of Chicago and Milwaukee. He also enjoyed driving, camp fires, music and was a military history buff. As an avid sports enthusiast, Nick was a fan of the Bucks, Brewers and Packers, especially attending many Packer games with his dad at Lambeau Field. He just received Lambeau Field season tickets after being on the waiting list for 24 years. Above all, Nick was happiest while spending time with all his loved ones. May he now rest in peace.
Surviving are his beloved parents, Maureen Vaillancourt and Gary & Joy Vaillancourt; dear sister, Noelle (Eric) Davison; grandmothers, Joyce McGovern and Carol Vaillancourt; aunts, Cindy (Bruce) Mikula, Patrice McGovern and Cheryl (Tom) Gedemer; step-brothers and step-sister; his faithful feline companion, Max; many cousins, other relatives and friends – too numerous to mention by name.
Nick was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John McGovern and Donald Vaillancourt.
A private family memorial service was held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2016. In memory of Nick’s patriotism and admiration to our country’s veterans, contributions to the “Wounded Warrior Project” has been suggested.

I am at a loss for words to express how very sorry I am for all of you. There are no words that can take away your pain but I hope and pray that knowing so many of us care so very much about you will give you a tiny bit of comfort.
I remember like it was yesterday that my daughter and I were bobbing in the Wave Pool at Noah’s Ark when I was suddenly thrown into you two guys having the time of your lives. Nick had the biggest smile on his face. He was clearly enjoying the moment.
I pray you find warm memories to ease your loss. I’m certain you’ll see him again.
Hugs,
Marsha
