RACINE – Norma M. Woodward (Swanson), 61, passed away at Bay at Sheridan in Kenosha on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
She was born in Kalamazoo, MI on July 9, 1959, the daughter of the late Clyde and Faith (nee: Rasmussen) Swanson. She graduated from Washington Park High School in 1977. On December 1, 1979 she married Paul Woodward, Sr. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2008.
Norma last worked at Pick ‘N Save until her health forced an early retirement. Her previous jobs included manager at K-mart, Beautician, and co-owner of Our Family Treasures consignment shop in west Racine.
She enjoyed bowling and won 1st place 2006/2007 City of Racine bowling tournament singles, won 1st place 2008/2009 City of Racine bowling tournament doubles. She loved family camping trips, traveling road trips with her sister visiting family and friends, antique shopping and spending time with her sons and grandsons.
Norma is survived by her sons, Paul (Robyn) Woodward, Jr. and Thomas Woodward both of Racine; her grandsons, Caleb and Jonathan Woodward; her sisters, Helen Swanson of Racine, Joyce (Ed) Tabor of New Mexico; her brother, Clyde (Laurie) Swanson of Racine; as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her grandson, Paul Woodward, III; her sister, Margo Cottonaro and her nephew and niece, Nathan and Melissa Swanson.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 for a visitation from 5-7 p.m. Her funeral service will take place on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Warren Williams officiating. There will also be a visitation on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be required. A procession to Sylvania Cemetery will follow the service.

So sorry to hear of Norma’s passing. We go back a long way. Not only did we go to high school together but we also became sister in laws. Norma always had a smile on her face and It was a pleasure to have her as a friend. Rest In Peace my friend until we meet again. Love to all.

Dearest Helen,Joyce ,Cylde and Laurie, along with Norma’s beloved sons and grandsons,
I’m saddened by Norma’s passing and just have to let you know that she was my Best Friend and I have not forgotten her. Norma was a fun-filled, loving friend who always had my back. I will always treasure so many memories, especially our girl scout days! Norma loved her family dearly and I will miss her, but I also believe she is in a better place and finally reunited with Paul. I’m also sorry to say due to Covid I will not be at the funereal, I just cannot take the risk, this fact is heartfelt and sorrowful. My God carry you all through the coming,days,months and years ahead to Peace and Love that she lived! Rest In Paradise my dear friend!

Norma was a true inspiration for me on Thursday nights at Castle Lanes. Her words of encouragement and her smile I will remember always. I always looked forward to seeing her at Pick n Save at the self check out lane. We had small conversations about bowling and family. I am going to miss her smile and the sweet lady she always will be in my heart ❤ ♥
