
STURTEVANT- Orland G. Hinrichs, 69, passed away after a long battle with cancer, at his home with his family and friends by his side on Thursday, April 3, 2008. He was born in Red Lake Falls, MN on July 23, 1938 to the late Ernest and Mable (nee: Hansen) Hinrichs. On March 31, 1962, he married the love of his life, Barbara T. Hauge. Orlie served his nation with the U.S. Navy. He also gave over 30 years of service to Pabst Brewing, retiring before its closing. Many will remember him in this area from Hinrichs Appliances where he provided appliance repair for many, especially the elderly, in his community. Orlie was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in the garden. However, he truly cherished the time spent with his family. In addition to his loving wife, Barbara of Sturtevant, his survivors include his children, Michael (Mary) Hinrichs of Bear Creek, NC, Michelle (Dale) Bohn of Shawnee, Kansas, Mark (Michelle) Hinrichs of Racine and Melissa (Eric) Kirkeby of Sturtevant; nine grandchildren, Teri, Ashley, Brandy, Greg, Kimmi, Ben, Malachi, Tannon and Erin; brothers, Art (Darlene) Hinrichs, Roger (Pam) Hinrichs, Steve (Bev) Hinrichs, Jerry Hinrichs; sisters, Pat (Ray) Nelson, Lorraine Wheeler, Judy (Dale) DeRosier, Peggy (Chip) Langevin, Sandy (Dale) Helleson; sisters-in-law, Bev Hinrichs, Sharon Gunufson, Lois Goering and Ida Hauge. Orlie is also survived by 30 nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Hinrichs, Jr., brothers-in-law, Loren Hauge and sister-in-law, Doreen Porter. A memorial service celebrating Orlie’s life will be held in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Mortenson officiating. There will be a visitation from 4-6 p.m. Orlie’s family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Mullane and staff, Hospice Alliance and all the family and friends that have provided them with loving care and support.
