Kenosha – Patricia Ann (nee: Piehl) Meeker, 77, was surrounded by the love of her family when she was called to her Eternal Home on Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was born in Kenosha on August 25, 1934, daughter of the late Frederick and Dorothy (nee: Murphy) Piehl.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Kenosha. She attended St. Mary Catholic Grade School, Lincoln Middle School, and Mary D. Bradford High School. On August 20, 1955, Pat was united in marriage to the love of her life, Donald A. Meeker, at St. George Catholic Church. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church (formerly St. George) and a member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary #286. Pat worked for many businesses over the years including: Simmons Co., Manpower, Olster, Kenosha Auto Transport, and ultimately retired from St. Catherine’s Hospital in 1990.
Pat loved to camp in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and, in her retirement, enjoyed the winter months in Florida with her husband, Don. She enjoyed playing cards and loved spending time being creative with her crocheting, knitting, and sewing. Pat loved, above all, spending time with her family. The apples of her eye were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Pat leaves to cherish her memory, husband of over 56 years, Donald A. Meeker of Kenosha; children, Ruth A. (Robert) Redlin, Richard F. (Theresa) Meeker, Donald P. Meeker, all of Kenosha; grandchildren, Amber S. (Michael E.) Szklarski, Marc R. Redlin, Meghan M. Redlin, Melissa B. (Brian) Magliocco, Blair D. Meeker, Haley Ann Meeker; great-grandchildren, Dane Robert Szklarski, Reid Michael Szklarski; sister, Susan E. (Richard) Hughes; and other relatives too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her sister, Rosemary Piehl, who died at birth, and her grandparents, Charles and Susan (nee: Schumacher) Murphy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, December 19, 2011, 11am, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7307 40th Avenue. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday, December 18, 4pm until 7pm, and in church on Monday from 10am until the time of the service. In accordance with Pat’s wishes, cremation will take place following her funeral service. Private interment will take place in St. James Cemetery at a future date. The family has suggested memorials to the Brookside Care Center Activities Fund or to the Kenosha Achievement Center.
We would like to thank everyone for their love and support of Patricia throughout her illness. May God continue to bless all of you.

I am so sorry for your loss. I empathize with you and your feelings at this sad time, as we lost DAD in May. I know how difficult it is to loose a loved one especially when they’ve been fightin a long health battle. I’ll always remember the fun we had as kids living on 23rd Ave, Pat’s gorgeous red hair and the lily of the valley growing under her bedroom window next to our drive. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
