
Racine – Petra Orozco, 81, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, May 18, 2013. She was born in San Juan, TX, on September 9, 1931, daughter of the late Jose and Delia (nee: Gonzales) Salinas.
Petra was married to the love of her life, Luis Orozco, on September 5, 1959, in Pocatello, Idaho. Luis preceded her in death on December 31, 1999.
Petra was a proud and loving homemaker for her family. There was a time that she worked for the Gold Medal Company as a seamstress until the company closed. Petra was a member of Cristo Rey Parish.
Petra leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Oralia (Margarito) Orozco – Rodriguez, Delia (Jose) Gonzalez, Margarita Reza, all of Racine; grandchildren, Ricardo, Gabriel, Viviana, Adriana, Luis, Fabian, David, Jr., Monica, Lia, Joshua, Elias, Simon, Julian, Javier, Sergio, Vanessa, Myra; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Yecenia, Joseph, Abriana, Ricardo, Jr. Aydriyan, Annika, David James, Brayden Joshua; brother, Antonio Salinas of Alamo, TX; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to mention. In addition to her parents and husband, Petra is preceded in death by her sons, Javier (infant), Alberto, Jose Luis; sister, Maria (Ignacio) Carlin; and brother, Santos Salinas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2013, 12:00pm, at Cristo Rey Parish, 800 Wisconsin Avenue, with Rev. Esteban Redolad officiating. Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday, May 23, 5:00pm until 7:30pm. A prayer service will be held at 7:30pm. The visitation will continue in church on Friday, May 24, 2013, from 11:00am until the time of the Mass. Burial will follow the Mass on Friday at Calvary Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Cristo Rey Parish, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, or to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt “Thank You” to Dr. Durbin, Dr. Dhingra, and the staff of the Dialysis Center on Warwick Way for all of the special care that they have given to our mother over the years. God bless you!
