
Raymond Zengota, 81, passed away in Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints on Monday, May 2, 2011. He was born in Racine on October 31, 1929 the son of the late Stefan and Agnes (nee: Swiencicki) Zengota.
Mr. Zengota served his country as a paratrooper with the U.S. Army. He had been employed by Webster Electric for nearly 30 years. Mr. Zengota was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and since it’s closing, a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church.
Mr. Zengota enjoyed fishing, especially at Lake Poygan, bowling, flower and vegetable gardening. He was a master wine maker.
Surviving are his sister-in-law Kathleen Zengota, of Racine; nieces, Jody Zengota, of Racine, Jamie (Brian) Hoegsted, of Sturtevant, and Kari (Steve) Hakker, of Fresno, CA; special cousin, Anne Chesar, of Racine. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Zengota, and an infant brother.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., on Thursday, May 5th, at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32.
