Racine – Richard Charles Richardson, 54, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Rick was born in Platteville on June 14, 1958, son of Charles Norman and Patricia Louise (nee: Koeller) Richardson.
Rick loved being a biker – leather jackets, blue jeans and boots! His father gave him his first motorcycle when he was nine years old and his love of bikes has never ceased. He has even built his own motorcycles over the years. Rick taught himself to play the guitar at a young age before he could even read music. He played in several bands over the years including Rock Bottom and Sky High. Rick swore one day he would move to Nashville to be a country rock star. Even though the dream of Nashville never came true for Rick, he was a star as he had a large fan following and many people who loved him dearly.
Above all, Rick loved his family. He had an angel on Earth, Patti Busch. Rick had never been in love until Patti came along and became the center of his world. He also treasured the time he was able to spend with his son, Travis. They loved to travel together and go fishing. Rick never missed a phone call to his mother, Pat, at night before going to bed. In the winter, he and his father, Charlie, would spend time together snowmobiling. He always remembered his sister, Debbie, around the holidays even if she just got last year's Christmas present two weeks ago. He may have been forgetful at times but never forgot to be the kind "Rick" that everyone had come to know and love.
Rick leaves to cherish his memory, his angel, Patti Busch of Kansasville; son, Travis Richardson of Racine; Patti's children, Rick Klaus, Tom Klaus, Rachel Klaus, Amanda Busch; parents, Charles and Patricia Richardson of Racine; sister, Debra Richardson of Racine; grandmother, Hazel Koeller of Dubuque, IA; aunts and uncles, Louis (Betty) Richardson, Betty Richardson, Esther (Bob) Robinson, Linda (Marvin) Simmons, James (Judith) Richardson, Ronald (Ruth) Richardson, Velma Koeller, David (Barbara) Koeller, Karen Appenzeller, Ernest (Darlene) Koeller, Joe (Alice) Koeller, Mary Koeller, Janet (Joseph) Noll, Pamela (Frank) Ries, Lori (Mike) Gueder, Steve (Jane) Koeller, Denny Koeller; four legged feline companion, Murphy; and other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention. Rick is preceded in death by his grandparents, Leo Koeller, James (Alverna) Richardson; uncles, Levi Richardson, Carson Koeller, Duane Koeller, Doug Koeller, Robert Koeller; aunts, Esther Robinson, and Sandy Koeller.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 31, 2012, 11:30am, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of the service. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to Travis Richardson.
