Green Bay (formerly of Racine) – Richard E. Ross; age 86; passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Richard was born in Toledo, OH on July 13, 1928 to Alfred and Gertrude Ross. He attended Blessed Sacrament grade school and graduated from Macomber High School in 1946. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and was proud to have been assigned his own aircraft as a crew chief even though he was a Pfc.
He met the love of his life Virginia F. Schmidt. They were married on February 3, 1951 in Toledo, OH. They were blessed with four loving children.
Richard was employed as a parts manager at Willy's Jeep in Toledo, OH which ultimately became AMC/Jeep. Richard moved to Caledonia, WI in 1971 where he retired from AMC/Chrysler in 1985.
Dick and Virginia loved their life as retirees. They split their time between their cottage in Waterford, WI and their condo in Clearwater, FL. Dick was extremely generous in helping any of his family, friends and co-workers who needed help. He set a good example on how to live. He loved golf, softball and bowling. When not on the course or in the field…he enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially the Green Bay Packers. His family treasures the memories of time at the cottage, boat rides and dad's famous barbecues. Every one of his granddaughters remembers sitting in Grandpa's lap and driving the boat. We were so privileged to share the last ten years with dad when he moved to Green Bay. Virginia taught us all how to be a loving care taker as his health failed.
Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia; his children, Michael (Mary Jo) Ross, Laura (Lee) Voeks and Beth (John) Urick; his sisters, Arlene (Donald) Griesinger and Judith (Ronald) Mierzwiak; his grandchildren, Amy (Aaron) Mahoney, Amber Urick, Allison (Chad) Pamperin, Mallory (Matthew) Walters, Alisa and Kaitlyn Ross; two great- granddaughters, Riley and Drew Pamperin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard; his parents and in-laws; his sister, Beatrice; and his brother, Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue in Racine, at 10:30 am with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Holy Family Cemetery on Highway 31. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The family would like to thank Mary Jo Ross for all her loving care of our dear father. We would also like to thank Unity Hospice, Woodside Assisted Living, Fr. Paul DeMuth and Gloria Nolan from St. Elizabeth Seton Parish for all of their support.

Mrs. Ross, Mike, Lori, Beth and families. I have many fond memories of Mr. Ross – not only from my visits to WI, but from the days on Mayfair Blvd. You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
