
Olivia, MN- Richard Kenneth “Dick” Hahn, 83, formerly of Racine, passed away on his late wife’s, Mary LaVonne (nee: Turner), birthday and joined her in Heaven, on February 20, 2008. Dick was born in Racine on June 21, 1924 to the late Albert and Beth (nee: Feavel) Hahn. A graduate of Park High School, he faithfully served our Country with the United States Navy 77th Seabees in WWII from 1943-45. Dick was united in marriage with Mary LaVonne Turner on May 18, 1946. She preceded him in death on February 12, 1981. Following, on December 14, 1986, he married Uva Hahn. Dick was employed by Rexnord-Racine Hydraulic & Machine Co. for over 41 years, retiring as a supervisor. For the past 22 years, Dick has enjoyed living part-time in both Minnesota and Arizona He was formally a member of First Baptist Church. Dick, in his very own words, “lived a full and happy life”. Constantly active, he was involved in various pool leagues, was an avid golfer and was awarded as the Minnesota State Horseshoe Champion at age 75. Surviving are his wife, Uva, of Olivia; daughters, Barbara (Randy) Brown and Terry (Raymond) Smith, both of Racine; grandchildren, Heather (Joseph) Brayer, Melissa Walker and Sean Smith; great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Paige Brayer; Michael, Shane, Terry, Mo and Alexandria Walker; sister, Doris Turner; Uva’s daughters and their families; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Dick was preceded in death by his treasured daughter, Mary Jill Hahn; grandson-in-law, John Walker; brothers, Norman (Hazel) and Elton (Lillian) Hahn; and brother-in-law, Louis Turner. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:30 am in Evangelical United Methodist Church, 11th and Main Sts., with Rev. Dr. Creighton Kaye officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7 pm and in the church on Monday from 9:30-10:30 am.
