
Racine – Robert “Bob” Eugene Przytarski, 75, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was born on August 27, 2011, son of the late Stanley and Celia (nee: Galewski) Przytarski. Bob was a lifelong resident of Racine.
Bob was united in marriage to Joyce Jackson at St. Edward Catholic Church in Racine on October 5, 1957. Joyce preceded him in death on July 4, 1969. Bob was united in marriage to Maryellen Peterson at Holy Name Catholic Church in Racine on July 29, 1972. Maryellen preceded him in death on November 27, 2007.
Bob attended grade school at St. Stanislaus School and then graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1954. He attended University of Wisconsin – Parkside and Carthage College where he took courses in chemistry and engineering. Bob was enlisted in the Wisconsin National Guard and served active duty during the Berlin Wall Crisis in 1962. He worked as a chemical engineer for S.C. Johnson for 36 years before retiring in 1991. Bob was a member of the Johnson’s 20 year club and retired as a Technology Specialist in the engineering department. He was a member of the American Association of Chemical Engineers on both the state and national level.
Bob loved his weekly games of poker with the boys. He also enjoyed trips to the casino where he played bingo and the slot machines. Bob was a lifelong member of Racine Instinctive Bowmen and was an officer for 13 years. He was the RIB Man of the year in 1972. Bob enjoyed bow hunting and competitive archery. He loved fishing, camping, gardening and spending time at his cabin on the Lac du Flambeau Chain of Lakes. Bob was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #697 and was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He served on the parish council as well as many other committees.
Bob is survived by his children, Debbi (Chet) Luby of Bensenville, IL, Mike (Tammy) Przytarski of St. Francis, Suellen Przytarski of Racine; granddaughters, Kathy Luby and Alyssa Luby, both of Bensenville, IL, Scharna (Shad) Sunderland of Bushnell, IL; great-granddaughter Aarilyn Thornton, also of Bushnell, IL; nieces, nephews, and other relatives too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents and late wives, Bob is preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary (Ed) Facko.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 28, 2011, 11am, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, with Rev. Terry Huebner officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will take place following the service at West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church from 10am until the time of the service. The family has suggested memorials to your favorite charity.
