Mt. Pleasant – Robert S. Anderson, 95, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He was born in Racine on April 19, 1921, son of the late Sidney and Lillian (nee: Christenson) Anderson. Robert met the love of his life, Jean Mae Wilear in 1940, and they married on December 27, 1941. Robert served in the US Army from 1942-1945 with the 518th Ordnance Company, made up of J.I. Case personnel. Sadly, Jean passed away on October 14, 2012, but Robert always treasured the more the over 71 years of happiness they shared. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Robert was employed at Case, and then Western Publishing as a lithographer until he retired in 1981. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, collecting coins and stamps, and spending time with Jean and his family at their cabin on Pike Lake in northern Wisconsin. In 2016 Robert moved to the Primrose Retirement Community, where he developed many relationships with fellow residents and staff, and looked forward to his visits from his great-grandson Cody Kordus who worked there. Robert was member of Union 254, and served as an officer for many years. He was also a member and officer with the Lutheran Men of America bowling league.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Peggy (Dennis) Michel of Racine and Vicky (John) Krenzke of Mt. Pleasant; 4 grandchildren, Michelle (Chris) Kordus, Jennifer (Tim) Alton, Amy Krenzke (James Gibson), and John R. (Alexis) Krenzke; 4 great-grandchildren, Cody Kordus, Ashley Kordus, Meghan Alton, Connor Alton (and looking forward to the 5th in January); as well as other relatives and dear friends.
Private memorial services for Robert and Jean will be held at a later date.
