Racine – Roberto G. Cavazos, 57, passed away unexpectedly at Kenosha Medical Center on Wednesday, March 30, 2011. He was born in Coahuila, Mexico on April 11, 1953. Roberto grew up in Texas, and had been a Racine area resident for more than 30 years. On February 14, 1988 he was united in marriage to Dolores Hernandez.
Roberto earned his degrees in Political Science and Economics, and Master’s Degree in Business after studying in Mexico City and in Europe. Roberto was an entrepreneur with a gift for starting new business ventures both in the United States and in Mexico. He astounded everyone he knew with his ability to get better than the best deal, especially the sales people from whom he worked those deals! His love for the next big deal was surpassed only by his love for his wife and grandchildren. He was a warm and generous helper who looked out for the less fortunate. He filled the lives of those he knew with fun and laughter. He will be sadly missed.
Roberto is survived by his wife, Dolores Cavazos; his daughters, Yvonne Michelle Cavazos, Dolores Estrada, and Rosa (Suit) Khonmuang; grandchildren, Whon Adan Phrakousonh, Nanya and Briya Khonmuang ; brothers, Rudy (Blanche) Brieno, and Joe Brieno; sisters, Sandra (Aaron) Cuevas, Rosie (Albert) Reyes; brother-in-law, Joseph James (Terry) Hernandez; sisters-in-law, Rosa (Alejandro) Hernandez, and Mary Jane (Raul) Saldana; as well as many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and other friends.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2011 with Rev. Scott Brownell officiating. Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service.
