WAUPUN, WI (FORMERLY OF RACINE) – Ronald R. Koski, 80, passed away at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac on Saturday, August 29, 2020.
He was born in Kenosha on July 5, 1940, the son of the late Jacob and Tiami (nee: Moilanen) Koski. Ronald graduated from Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. Soon after he met the love of his life, Virginia A. Willetts. They married on February 1, 1961 in Racine, WI at Atonement Lutheran Church.
During their 59 years of marriage, Ron and his wife Virginia thoroughly enjoyed life. Most of their years together were spent bowling, playing tennis, deer hunting, yearly family vacations in Tomahawk, WI and traveling across the country.
Ron was a hard-working man all his life and worked two jobs for many years to provide for his family. Directly out of high school he became employed by Ladish Company Tri Clover Division (now Alfa Laval Inc.) in Kenosha, WI until receiving an early retirement in 1995. During the next five years, Ron worked at Ruud Electric in Racine, WI until moving to St. Nazianz, WI in 2000 to be closer to his grandchildren. He continued to work part-time at the Parts Depot in Chilton, WI and officially retired in 2007.
Ron was a loyal family man who adored his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with his family. As an avid Nascar fan, he spent many holidays and weekends watching his races while enjoying the company of family. He was known to shout out the answers to Trivial Pursuit from the living room as his wife, children, and grandchildren competitively played in a nearby room. Ron enjoyed his last race on August 23rd, at home with his family, before going into hospice the next day. After many precious visits with his family, he passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of August 29th, 2020.
Ron is survived by his wife, Virginia Koski of Waupun; his daughter, Justine (George) Katze of Waupun; his son: Ric Koski (Richard) of Kenosha; his sisters, Virginia (Robert) Malzahn of Mesa, AZ; Joan (Gerald) Schlitz of Anniston, AL; his brothers-in-law, Scott Willetts (Karolyn Gandee) of Phoenix, AZ, Kent (Andrea) Willetts of Frederick, MD; his sister-in-law: Suzanne Jenkins of Racine; his grandson, Jason (Nicole) Presto of Fond du Lac; his granddaughter, Mallory Presto of Waupun; his great-grandchildren, Dresden Krueger (Age 8), Zoe Presto (Age 4) and Ava Presto (Age 2).
In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Savannah Kleinhans (Age 9) of St. Nazianz, WI; son-in-law, Daniel Kleinhans St. Nazianz, WI; father-in-law, Fred Willetts (AKA Coach); mother-in-law, Lois Willetts both of Racine; brothers-in law: Christopher Willetts of Racine; Frederick Willetts of McDonough GA, and nephew: Robert Malzahn Jr. of Mesa, AZ.
