Racine – Rose Patricia (nee: Recupero) Kujellis, age 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Rose was born in Racine on March 16, 1918 to the late Nicholas and Mary (nee: Palatino) Recupero. She was a graduate of Washington Park High School. On November 22, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Racine, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Henry W. Kujellis, who preceded her in death on August 28, 2005.
Although Rose did work for a while at Hamilton Beach and Interlake Steel, her main vocation in life was tending to her family as a devoted homemaker. With a profound Catholic faith, she was a proud & longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Rose loved being included in everything that involved her family – especially with her grandchildren. She will be forever remembered for being so very kind, sweet & generous and for always placing the needs of others before her own.
Surviving are her children, Marilee (Thomas) Namowicz and Henry (Luci) Kujellis, Jr.; grandchildren, Jana (Deric) Kim, Cassy (Dan) Cichy, Anthony Namowicz, Joseph Namowicz, Kelsey (fiancé, Mike Giese) Kujellis and Kylee Kujellis; great-grandchildren, Julian, Jamison and Jordy Kim; brothers-in-law, Robert (Mary) Kujellis and Helen (Warren) Luedtke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her brother, Tony (Shirley) Recupero; sisters, Nellie Recupero, Josephine (Frank) Quadraccia, Lena Nuciforo, Annie Recupero and Angie Recupero; and by Henry’s parents, Henry and Adeline (nee: Pfeiffer) Kujellis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Javier Guativa and Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Terry, Tam and Natalie Welch says
Aunt Rose was the most generous, caring and cheerful person we have ever known. We will remember her kindness, generosity and, of course, her delicious dinners. ( She made the best breaded pork chops) She also had a wonderful sense of humor and lived her life with love and joy. We are grateful she was a part of our lives. We will miss her dearly.
Aloha oe Aunt Rose.
