
Racine- Russell A. Adzima, 52, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at his home on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Russell was born in Racine on March 16, 1956. He received his education from SC Johnson, Starbuck and Park High School. Russell served in the United States Army. He moved to Florida in 1987 and returned to Racine in 2003. Russ was an automobile fanatic. Born with a wrench in his hand, he was a master mechanic. He was passionate about racing and was proud to be on the pit crew of his family’s race car. Russ loved riding his Harley and loved NASCAR, BIG TIME! Russ had the gift to gab, loved helping others and lived life to the fullest. Above all, he was happiest when in the surroundings of his entire family. Surviving are his father, Glenn Adzima of Milwaukee; mother, Verla Adzima (nee: Larrabee) of Franksville; sisters, Patricia (Hugh Goodwin) Klein and Paulette (Robert) Borchert, both of Racine; brothers, Randall (Christine) Adzima of Racine and Rick Adzima of Milwaukee; nephews and nieces (who called him “Uncle Ra-Ra”), Verlance, Kyle, Elizabeth, Aubrey, Randall Jr., Erica Joy (Russ’ Goddaughter), Chrystal, Cory and Andrew; six great-nieces and nephews; fiancé, Joan Swope of Racine; step-daughter, Ashley Swope; canine companion, Macy; longtime family friend, Pinky; and by many relatives and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his step-mother, Jane Adzima. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11 am with Rev. Dr. Joan E. Jacobson-Wolf officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Somers. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 9-11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Russ’ family has been suggested.
