Funeral services for Sara will be held at Draeger-Langendorf funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday, January 10th, from 10:00 – 11:30 am.

Racine – Sara Ortiz, aged 86, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Friday December 27, 2024.
Born in Atascosa Texas, Sara lived the majority of her life in Racine. At a young age she started working for Western Publishing and remained there for 43 years until she retired.
On June 22 1963, Sara exchanged vows with Angel Ortiz at St. Lucy Catholic Church. Through the ups and downs of life, they shared 60 years of marriage until Angel’s passing. Outside of being a wife and mother, Sara enjoyed any type of outdoor activity but mostly she enjoyed being with her family – creating memories.
Sara is survived by sons, Adan Alberto (Jeanne Somers), David Julian (Gilbert Larson) and Juan Lorenzo (Maritza Hamilton); grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia and Paris; and sister, Janie Spaulding. Sara is also survived by many nephews, nieces and extended family. She was preceded in death by parents, Julian Quintanilla and Albertha Ramos; stepfather, E.R Ramos; brother, Robert Quintanilla; and her husband of 60 years, Angel R. Ortiz.
