Scotty worked as a tunnel boring machine operator for Jaydee Contractors. With the exception of his family, his world centered around music. In addition to his loving wife, Kelly, he is survived by his daughter, Kristi Richter of Mishawka, IN; his grandchildren, Austin, Delaney and Jake; his great granddaughter, Rilynn; his father, Thomas Urick of Racine; his brother, Nick (Johanna) Urick of California; his mother-in-law, Angie Walker of Lake Charles, LA; his brother-in-law, Mark (Michelle) Walker of Downigton, PA; his nephew and nieces, Nolan, Nicole and Ashley; as well as many cousins and dear friends, including those in the music world.
Scotty was preceded in death by his mother, Blanche Urick and his grandmother, Hazel Critzman.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2019 for a visitation and time to greet his family from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Dave Garski - Orlando, FL says
Scotty, from one bassist to another, the musical world has grown quieter now, without your song. You will remain in my memory as a musician who inspired. I am grateful for having had a brief moment to talk with you for the first time in nearly forty years. Rest in Peace, my friend. Dave Garski
Jim Pietkivitch says
I had the pleasure to jam and perform music with Scott Urick as a drummer in high school. We played in several Walden III High School bands including our own “Kadence” rock band. I will always remember the time when our school jazz ensemble placed 2nd in a 4-state competition. I believe it was in La Crosse, WI and we were in 11th grade. I remember afterwards Scott telling me that he was asked by the judges of the competition if he would be interested in a music scholarship at the school. Part of his performance and solo was on the stand-up bass. A very difficult instrument to play well which he had only started learning months earlier. I had a great time playing music with Scott and very thankful for the opportunity to have known him. Thinking of you and your kind heart. Condolences to the family.
Bob Fritchen says
My deepest sympathies to Kelly and the rest of Scott’s family and friends. I just met Scott this year playing drums in the new band he was assembling, but it didn’t take long to appreciate what a fine musician and person he was. Rest in peace, Scott, and it was an honor jamming with you.

My sympathies to the Urick Family. Scott n I were friends in our early 20’s n then lost contact eventhough we had many people in common.
Scott’s playing music for his mom Blanche who loved him so much n is a star shining bright in the big beautiful sky
Nathan James says
Scott really helped me when I was a homeless adolescent, got me a spot to crash in a crazy time at the fabled Party Palace! I met good people that will never be forgotten! Posted with Misty eyes, RIP Stickman.

Condolences to your Family. We went to Walden together and wandered the streets of “Lake Park” day and night. Most awesome bass player I’ve ever known.• Paradox with Jerry Tarwid in Sid’s place. Was that a fretless flying V bass you also played 😎 Miss You My Friend
