Kenosha – Shane Allen Borger, 59, received the promise of eternal life on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. He was born in Kenosha on October 9, 1953, son of David and Phyllis (nee: Heide) Borger.
Shane was united in marriage to the love of his life, Elizabeth Jean Hill, on September 28, 1974, at Racine Baptist Church.
Shane graduated from Bradford High School in 1971. He was a carpenter for Riley Construction for over 20 years and was known for being a master carpenter at his trade. He was a member of Somers Community Church. Shane loved to go hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed trips to Canada with his friends and his son, Tehl. Shane had a lifelong love of sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Above all, he treasured his family and friends and enjoyed the time he spent with them. Shane was able to help others continue a higher quality of life by being a donor to the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin.
Shane leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Borger of Kenosha; children, Tehl Borger of Kenosha, Shauna Borger of Carmel, Indiana; mother, Phyllis Borger of Kenosha; brother, Paul (Marilyn) Borger of Paddock Lake; mother-in-law, Joyce M. Hill of Racine; brother-in-law, Brian Hill of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Patti (Dave) Schilke of Racine; other nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Shane is preceded in death by his father, David Borger; and father-in-law, Robert N. Hill.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2013, 7:00pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road, with Rev. Kathleen Gloff officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until the time of the service.

Our condolences to all the family! I will miss his visits when we come home to Kenosha. He always watched for us to come in the summer! I remember him in first grade. Shane and Lonnie seemed only 4′ tall. It was a sad day when we heard! Rest in peace, Shane!
Don and Denise Lambrecht says
We owned and operated Denise’s Somers Inn until 2000 and we always enjoyed seeing Shane come through the door. He was always a gentleman and had a smile on his face.
We wish Liz and family strength and peace in this time of loss.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s never easy to cope with the pain of losing someone you love. Know that God is with you and he encourages us to find refuge in his loving arms. One day soon, he promises that all those in the memorial tombs will hear Jesus voice and come out to a resurrection of life. May the hope of embracing your dear loved one again bring you hope and comfort. (John 5:28,29 and Psalm 37:29)
