Sherry Denal Smith, age 54, passed away on January 28, 2021 in Texas. A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:30am in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home in Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the chapel from 9:00 – 10:30am. Rev. Tommy Hill, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.

Petals by FeliciaOn Thursday, January 28, 2021, Sherry Denal Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend was called home by her Loving Savior.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on February 1, 1966 to Alfred D. Smith and Evelyn Ray (Nee: Smith) Hood. She spent most of her memorable years in Racine, Wisconsin. Sherry achieved her diploma from Horlick High School and later attended Gateway Technical College for Early Childhood Education. She was employed at GCA and Woman’s Resource Center and completed volunteer work at Mitchell Elementary School. She was formerly a member of Wayman A.M.E. Church. She relocated to Killeen, Texas in 2013 but occasionally returned to Racine over the years to be with family.
Sherry will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She was a lover of life, laughter, art and music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were the absolute joy of her heart.
Surviving are her two daughters, Vanisha Cabell and April Pugh; her three grandchildren A’zaire Stevens, A’yszia Pugh and A’zore Pugh; mother Evelyn Smith; siblings Alice Johnson, Alfred D. Smith, Pamela Woods, Nikki Sherrill, Chrissy Sherrill; nieces and nephews Alex Scales, Tamara Jackson, Ashely Harlan, Tony Turner, Darion Woods, Avery Smith; special aunt and cousin Mary Tyler Bland and Michelle Hood – Poole; best friends Tonya Wilson and Loralei Lazalde and she’s further survived by other relatives and friends.
Sherry was greeted in heaven by her father Alfred D. Smith; grandfather and grandmother Albert Nelson (King) and Elmer Tyler. Her uncles and aunt Betty Hood, Dewey Bobo, Logan Tyler and David Tyler; and her two cousins Tony Hood and Trudy Hood.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10:30am in the Chapel of Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home in Racine, WI. Visitation will be in the chapel from 9:00 – 10:30am. Rev. Tommy Hill, Jr. will be officiating. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery in Racine, WI.
