Racine – Stephen Eugene Russo, 66, passed away at All Saints Hospital on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born in Racine on May 19, 1949, the son of the late Stephen and Phyllis Mae (nee: Roth) Russo. Stephen attended Lutheran High School, and then went on to Milwaukee Area Technical College and Gateway Technical College where he studied mechanical engineering.
Stephen enjoyed working at In-Sink-Erator for more than 25 years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and boating on the inland lakes; working on cars and helping others. He was tough and tenacious when necessary, but he always enjoyed a good time and making people laugh.
Stephen is survived by his daughters, Christine Russo, and Stephanie (Jeff) Berby both of Racine, and Gretchen (Rob) Hesse of Menomonie; grandchildren, Zenda Russo-Tadder, Jermaine Russo, Gabriel Russo, Perreese Cottingham, and Robert Hesse; sisters, Carol (Keith) Wuenstel of Racine, Jane (E.J.) Chiappetta in Idaho; brother, Tom (Sherry) Russo of Kenosha; his former wife and friend, Katherine Russo of Racine; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Gretchen and Ron Killips and nephew Michael Miller.
Memorial services will be held in the funeral home at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Friday beginning at 3 p.m. Please consider making donations in Stephen's memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
