Racine – Susan Lynn Kauffman, 51, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, September 8 2012, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on July 28, 1961, in Orlando, Florida, daughter of the late Jack and Nancy (nee: Mueller) Kauffman.
Susan was an avid reader and especially enjoyed studying the Bible in multiple languages. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Susan was also a dedicated member of The Grove Club, a support club affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous and Alanon. She was a generous and loving person who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Susan leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Robert (Margaret) Kosterman, Aaron (Jessica Carranza) Brown, all of Racine; grandchildren, Reese Kosterman, Dalton Kosterman, Scarlett Kosterman, Lane Kosterman, Aryanna Brown, Aaryn Lynn Brown, all of Racine, Jaevin Collins, of Beloit; brothers and sisters, Randy Kauffman of Wausau, Kathy (Michael) Schlitz of Knoxville, TN, Patti Kauffman-Jeninga of Racine, Ronnie (Carrie) Kauffman of Louisville, KY; nieces and nephews, Amber (William) Douangboupha of Wausau, Ashley Kauffman of Milwaukee, Kelly Schlitz of Knoxville, TN, Michael (Kelley) Schlitz, Jr. of West Branch, IA, Christian Jeninga of Racine, Bryon Erickson of Racine, Lucie Kauffman of Louisville, KY; great nieces and nephews, Caleb Kauffman, Cayden Douangboupha, both of Racine, Janessa Kauffman, David Pierce, Jr., both of Milwaukee, Joseph Schlitz, Olivia Schlitz, both of West Branch, IA; special friend and companion, Walter Johnson; beloved friends, Lamar Hargrove, Danny (Kelly) Bishop, Frieda Albertson, Roger Higgenbottom, and Darryl Manchester; and her loving dedicated caregivers at Wheaton-Franciscan and Hospice. In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her twin grandchildren, Erin and Maria Brown; and brother-in-law, John Jeninga.
A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, September 14, 2012, 6pm, at Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 4600 County Line Road. Visitation will be from 4pm until the time of the service. The family has suggested memorials to The Grove Club of Racine (www.thegroveinc.org).
