Racine- Susan “Susie” C. Frayer, 56, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded with the love of her family, on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 following a courageous 12-year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Susie was born in Milwaukee on August 11, 1951 to the late Edward and Edith (nee: Vittone) Peterlin. She lived in Racine most all of her life. Susie graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1969. A fitness enthusiast, Susie had worked at the YWCA as an aerobics instructor and at St. Luke’s Hospital as a leader of the “Get Off Your Rocker” senior fitness program. She remained active with these positions until the progression of the Multiple Sclerosis forced her to retire. Susie enjoyed arts & crafts and was a phenomenal cook. Above all, she was a passionate mother who cherished being surrounded with the love of her children. This horrific and debilitating disease was never able to steal Susie’s positive attitude or her zest for life. She was an incredible inspiration to us all! Surviving are her husband, Thomas Frayer; their children, Jessica (Ben) Walthers and Scott (Jamie Moreno) Frayer; brother, Joseph (Lana) Peterlin; sister, Mary Schaefer; father-in-law, Wayne Frayer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Virginia) Frayer, Randy (Nancy) Frayer, Terri (Fred) Dacquisto, Nancy (Scott) Starrett and Mary (Kevin) Marchant; special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Susie was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Evelyn Frayer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:00 am in St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave., with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 pm and in the church on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 am. In memory of Susie, memorials to Hospice Alliance or Multiple Sclerosis Society have been suggested. A heartfelt note of thanks to Susie’s devoted caregivers, Henryk, Jozefa, Jan and Grace; and to the entire staff of Hospice Alliance especially Terry and Dracy, for the compassionate care and support that was so warmly extended. God bless all of you!
