
Syid T. Abdullah (a.k.a. Eddie Campbell) was born in Somerville, Tennessee on December 29, 1948 to the late Hazel Lee Campbell and George Anderson. He passed away on May 9, 2016 in Racine, Wisconsin surrounded by his family and loved ones. Syid enlisted in the US Navy in 1966 and served aboard the USS Providence CLG6. Syid enrolled at Racine Technical Institute and earned an Associate’s degree in Marketing and a certificate in Electronics. He went on to have a career as a machinist. Over the years Syid was employed at Young Radiator Co., JC Penny, Case Co., Moxness Product Inc., and Interlake Package Corp. He retired in 2010. In 1971, he became a devoted Muslim and raised his family under the Muslim faith. Syid had a passion for photography, loved to read and wrote many short stories. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Sakinah Abdullah and their children, Tracy Daniels, Prentice Cosey, Haleemah Abdullah, Syid I. Abdullah, Tameka Abdullah, and Yusuf Abdullah.
The family would like to thank the doctors and the nurses at Wheaton Franciscan Intensive Care Unit at All Saints for their care and attention to our Dear Syid.
A Janaza will be held on Saturday, May 14th at 5:00pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held at 4:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 17th at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI at 10:00am.
