MOUNT PLEASANT – Theodore N. Joseph, 75, passed away with family at his side in his home on Thursday, December 7, 2017.
He was born in Racine on October 25, 1942, the son of the late Metodie J. and Dorothy R. (nee: Grabowski) Joseph. On February 23, 1963 he married Cherrie Lynn Butgereit in St. Joseph Catholic Church; a church he would remain a member until his passing.
Ted retired as a skilled machinist after 38 years of employment with J.I. Case. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors; especially when he could experience it and share it with his family.
In addition to his wife, Cherrie, he is survived by his sons, Sean Joseph of Racine, Aaron Joseph of Sturtevant; his daughter, Candice Joseph of Mount Pleasant; his grandchildren, Sandy Hammes of Burlington, Adam Joseph of Caledonia, Joseph Martin of South Milwaukee, Jason Martin of Milwaukee, Matthew Joseph of Caledonia; his great grandson, Aaron Joseph of Caledonia; his sister and brothers, Diane (Ramon) Martinez of South Milwaukee, Richard Joseph of Racine, Robert Joseph of Racine and Dennis (Joanna) Joseph of Mauston; his brothers-in-law, Melvin (Karen) Butgereit of Mosinee and Jack Butereit of Kenosha; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the funeral home Thursday, December 14, 2017 for an evening visitation from 5-7 p.m. The celebration of Ted’s life and funeral Mass will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Church(1533 Erie St) on Friday, December 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Steve Varghese, SAC officiating. There will also be a visitation at the church on Friday from 10-11 a.m. A private interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Cherrie, you don’t know me. I remember Ted when we lived in the Hayward area. We did Skype occasionally so caught up a little.
