
Tomasz “Tom” Serafin, 90, passed away in his residence on Thursday, July 10, 2008. He was born in Poland on December 21, 1917 the son of the late Michal and Barbara (nee: Cupka) Serafin. Tom was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church. After it closed the Serafins joined St. Sebastian Church, where they were very dedicated. Tom had been employed by L&M Meats as a meat cutter and sausage maker. He was a member of U.F.C.W. Local #1444. Surviving are his wife Maria (nee: Brodzinsky) Serafin; their children, Z. Antoni (Susan) Serafin of Stevensville, MI, John (Jolanta) Serafin of Easley, SC, Grazyna (John) Elwell of Racine, and Krzysztof (Wendy) Serafin of Waterville, OH; grandchildren, Greg (Wendy), Jeff (Heather) Serafin, Michelle (Robert) Derse, Samantha, Adam, and Joseph Serafin; great-grandchildren, Zachary, Connor, Corrine, Savannah and Morgan, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nusia (Henek) Giemza of Warsaw, Poland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Stanislaw and Jan; sisters Josefina, Maria, and Rosolia. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., in St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3100-95th St., on Monday, July 14th, with Rev. Paul L. Raczynski officiating. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Entombment will be at 2:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials to St. Sebastian Church, Hospice Alliance, or your favorite charity.
