We would like to send our deepest sympathies to Valery’s family and that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
In the summer of 1985, we met “Grandma Valery” at the Lighthouse Resort on Fence Lake. My son Nick was 3 and met Valery on the resort beach – at the time we were trying to potty train him, but he wouldn’t have any part of it until he met Grandma Valery. They bonded right away and she, bless her soul, got him to go potty on the toilet. After vacation we kept in touch with her and she would offer to have him stay over night at her house along with her granddaughter Michelle. Michelle and Nick became good friends and Valery would take them to the movies, lunch and even took to Great America. Of course time passed and as Nick got older, he didn’t see her. He did happen to see her one day when he was building homes across from where she used to live on 21st street. They said hi to each other and talked for awhile.
She was a very dear loving woman and will always be known as Grandma Valery to us and we will never forget her.
