Family and friends are invited to meet at Midtown Church of Christ (1704 13th Street) on Friday, August 23, 2024 for a visitation from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm. A service celebrating her life and Homegoing will follow at 12:00 pm.
Her interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
RACINE – Vickie Robinson, age 61, passed away at City of Hope Cancer Center in Zion Illinois on August 7, 2024.
Born in Racine WI, to the late Robert and Lula Mae Hicks where she loved and played with her 4 siblings. Vickie graduated from Gateway where she received her G.E.D, and then further took classes in 1987, to pursue her career for Childhood Education.
She worked for the YWCA, Kaiser, Racine Unified, Workforce, and the Racine County Community Center in the course of 25 years.
On Feb 18th 1995, Vickie married her husband, Carl Robinson, and were blessed with 29 yrs of marriage.
Vickie was very dedicated in taking care of her family and making sure her siblings were very well taking care of. She was very spiritual in the Lord and loved going to Midtown Church of Christ where she was a member. She loved the color pink and enjoyed flowers, watching NBA basketball on T.V, (especially LeBron James), and decorating her home.
Vickie also enjoyed making her famous pecan pies and peach cobbler. She also made the best dressing for the family on Thanksgiving. She loved to shop, listen to music at home (especially Motown and jazz) , talk to her siblings on the phone and spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren every chance that she could.
Vickie is survived by her husband Carl Robinson, her 2 daughters Roneasha Payne, and Shacarla (Frankie) Robinson Garcia; her step daughter Nerrissa Rush (and children) and step son Hanief Young (and children).
Her siblings Cassandra (Rayford) Milton, Sharon Hicks, and sister- in- law Elizabeth Hicks. Her niece and nephews Nar-Kisaj Hicks, Kiyoa (Joseph) Berryman, Untaurus Milton, Robert (Ambria) Hicks, and Keyshawn Hicks. Grandson Tayshaun Conners, along with great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other wonderful relatives and friends.
Vickie was preceded in death by her mother, Lula Mae Hicks and father, Robert Leon Hicks, her brother, Robert L. Hicks Jr., and sister Shirley A. Hicks.
The family would like to thank the staff at City of Hope Cancer Center, Froedtert South Hospital, and her Linden Ave neighbors for all the special love, support, and care for Vickie and the family through her time of need.

Today is August 26 2024 I’m just finding this out today. I’m so shocked I’m in total tears I so wished I knew this to attend the service. Vickie and Sharon were my grade school friends at Holy Trinity the hell we use to keep up it was all fun and laughter we’ve even shared homework. I just seen you a few months ago I can’t believe this has happened I’m at a lost for words.
