Racine – Virginia Eileen Jensen, 90, found peace with the Lord on Sunday, May 6, 2018. Born in Racine on June 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late John and Helga (nee: Andersen) Haskell. She was a graduate of Park High School. Virginia was married to Joseph Bequeaith from 1948 until his death in 1976. She later was married to Clarence Jensen from 1980 until his death in 2011. Virginia worked for the Racine County District Attorney’s Office as Chief Administrative Assistant for many years.
Nothing was more important to Virginia than her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family picnics, playing games, traveling, line dancing and the Green Bay Packers. She was an excellent quilter. In addition to the many quilts she made for family, she sewed quilts for the needy overseas as part of her church group. Virginia was a faithful member of Christ Church United Methodist Congregation.
She is survived by her children Joseph (Julie) Bequeaith of Racine, Michael (Candice) Bequeaith of Spring, Texas, David (Rose) Bequeaith, Debbie (Bob) Knudson of Racine, Charles (Kim) Bequeaith of Nashotah, Vickie (Mark) Parrish of Racine, and Paul Bequeaith of Ft. The last several months of our mother’s life was difficult for all of us, but was made so much easier for her due to the care and friendship of Liz and Ray Munoz. We also wish to thank Mariann Bequeaith, and Brianna of Aurora Hospice Care. For this we thank them with all of our heart.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Church United Methodist, 5109 Washington Avenue, Racine at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018. All are invited to visit with the family in the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society appreciated.
