Kenosha – Virginia M. Beggi, 94, known to all as “Ginny”, received the promise of eternal life on Saturday, July 4, 2015. She was born in Racine on March 2, 1921, daughter of the late Salvatore and Luisa (née: Christiano) Camalo.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Beggi, on November 24, 1950, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. James preceded her in death on September 11, 2010, just a few months prior to their 60th wedding anniversary.
Ginny was one of the best Italian cooks ever and enjoyed preparing authentic Sicilian food for her family. She was a member of Vittoria Colonna (Roma Lodge). Ginny enjoyed playing golf and was a member of a card club for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church where she also participated in the Lucyioners. She loved traveling, especially to visit her family in Italy. Ginny loved her family dearly and treasured the time spent with them. She will be dearly missed.
Ginny leaves to cherish her memory, her children, John (Roseann) Beggi, Lysa (Sam) Heaton; granddaughters, Amanda and Sarah Beggi; nephew, Craig (Debby) Camalo; nieces, Carla (Jim) Boylan, Cheryl Argianas; other relatives and dear friends too numerous to mention.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ginny is preceded in death by her brothers, Mike (Annina) Camalo, Frank (Claire) Camalo; sister, Mary Camalo; and sister-in-law, Gena Duiguid.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, 2015, 12:00pm, at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the Mass. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Highway 32 in Caledonia. The family has suggested memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church.
The family would like to send a heart-felt “Thank You” to the staff at Casa Del Mare, the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, Dr. Jeffrey Trimark and his staff, and Dr. John Matteuci for the tremendous care given to our mother over the years. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
