SHEBOYGAN – (formerly of West Allis and Beloit) – Mrs. Yvonne Massey-Gagne, 81, passed away at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice on Friday, July 3, 2020.
She was born in Sheboygan on July 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Harvey and Laura (nee: Knowles) Buchmann. She graduated from Kiel High School.
Vonnie met Sheffey N. Massey, Jr. while working at Allis Chalmers in West Allis. They were married a year later on November 26, 1960. Sheffey preceded her in death on March 25, 2001. On August 11, 2006 she married Almanzar “Al” Gagne.
Vonnie worked a number of part-time jobs throughout her life. After Allis Chalmers she worked at Elaine’s Clothing in West Allis, the YWCA and Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders of Beloit and Vikwood in Sheboygan. She was also very active volunteering as a Girl Scout leader as well as for the Men of Harmony in Sheboygan for over 20 years. Vonnie was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Sheboygan, First United Methodist Church in Beloit and Faith United Methodist Church of West Allis. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband, Al Gagne of Sheboygan she is survived by her daughters and son, Carrie (Kathi Wilson) Massey of Racine, Mary Beth (George) Larscheidt of Mequon, Dr. Sheffey N. (Deborah) Massey, III of St Paul, MN and Laura (David) Palmer of Rockton, IL; her grandchildren, Nate (Emily) Larscheidt, Nick Larscheidt, Joel Larscheidt, Julina Larscheidt, Tess “Charlie” Massey, Eva Massey, Jesse Jonas, James Jonas and Wilson Jonas, Breanna Palmer, Abigayle Palmer and Matt (Rachel) Palmer; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Phil Buchmann of Hudson, Florida, Duane (Linda) Buchmann of Howards Grove, WI, Charles (Nancy) Buchmann of Birmingham, AL and Janice Buchmann of Kiel, WI; her step-children, Scott (Tara) Gagne, Wendy Gagne, Geno (Lisa) Kalous, John (Karen) Covich, Lane Kalous; as well as step grandchildren; nieces, nephews and dear friends, especially, Fritz and Jo Schulz, Ken and June Smasal and Bernie and Lynn Falk. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Chris Palmer; her brother, Harvey (Gene) Buchmann; her sisters-in-law, Vicki Buchmann, Darlene Buchmann and her stepson, Keith Gagne.
Family and friends are invited to meet in the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home and Crematory on Saturday, July 18, 2020 for a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A service remembering and celebrating her life will follow at 2:00 p.m. The service will be live streamed on the following link https://youtu.be/5_iw9kDmAkQ Memorials have been suggested to Aurora Zilber Family Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Vonnie and her family. In accordance with the Racine County mandate, only 50 people will be allowed to enter the funeral home at a time. For the safety and security of our guests we also strongly encourage those in attendance to bring and wear a face covering. We thank everyone for their understanding and cooperation during this difficult time. The ceremony will be live streamed and recorded for those interested but unable to attend.
